5 Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Dental Implant Provider
If you’re researching dental implants, All-on-4, All-on-X, or teeth-in-a-day, one of the biggest mistakes you can make is assuming every dental office is offering the same thing.
They’re not.
Two offices can both say they offer “All-on-4 dental implants,” but the planning, materials, timeline, final teeth, surgical experience, and long-term support can be completely different.
In this video, Dr. Kris Bano of Centreville Family Dentistry and Implant Center explains five important questions every patient should ask before choosing a dental implant provider.

1. How Much Experience Does the Doctor Have With This Procedure?
Placing one dental implant is very different from planning and completing a full-mouth implant case.
With full-arch treatment, your provider has to think about the surgery, bone, bite, smile design, temporary teeth, final teeth, and long-term maintenance.
Before choosing a provider, ask whether they complete full-mouth implant cases regularly. Look at their reviews, before-and-after photos, patient stories, and video testimonials.
Experience matters, especially when you are trusting someone with your smile, health, and ability to eat comfortably.
2. What Type of Teeth Are You Actually Getting?
All-on-4 is not one single product. It is a concept where implants are used to support a full arch of teeth.
But the actual teeth can be very different from office to office.
Ask what your temporary teeth are made of, what your final teeth are made of, whether they are digitally designed, and whether the final teeth are zirconia, acrylic, or another material.
This matters because you are not just paying for implants. You are investing in the teeth you will smile with, chew with, and live with every day.
3. What Happens If Something Does Not Go as Planned?
Dental implant treatment can be life-changing, but like any surgical procedure, there can be speed bumps.
An implant may need more healing time. A temporary bridge may break. The bite may need to be adjusted. The gums may change during healing.
That does not mean the case has failed, but it does mean your dental office needs to have a clear plan.
Before starting treatment, ask what happens if an implant does not heal properly, what is covered, what is not covered, and who will take care of you long term.
4. What Does the Full Timeline Look Like?
Many patients hear the phrase “teeth in a day” and assume the entire process is finished in one appointment.
In many cases, patients can have failing teeth removed, implants placed, and fixed temporary teeth delivered the same day. But those same-day teeth are usually temporary teeth used during the healing phase.
After the implants heal and the gums settle, the final teeth are designed and made.
A good office should clearly explain each phase, including the consultation, 3D scan, planning, surgery, temporary teeth, healing period, and final teeth.
5. Does the Whole Office Understand Implant Treatment?
The doctor matters, but the doctor is not the only person involved in your care.
A full-mouth implant case also involves treatment coordinators, assistants, front desk team members, lab support, and the people helping you before and after surgery.
When you visit the office, pay attention to how organized the process feels. Does the team answer your questions clearly? Do they explain the timeline and financial options? Do they make you feel rushed, or do they help you feel comfortable?
The overall team and experience matter just as much as the procedure itself.
