What are Clear Aligners?
As the name implies, clear aligners are clear. They are made from high-tech plastic and have minimal visual impact on your smile. Each set of aligners is custom made to fit very snuggly over your teeth and slowly transition them into alignment. There are no wires or brackets, making clear aligners infinitely more comfortable than traditional braces.
In most cases, clear aligners straighten teeth faster than metal braces, making them very attractive if you want your treatment over with as soon as possible. However, it will still take months to get the results you want.
When you start out with your clear aligners, you’ll get several sets at once. For the fastest and best results, you need to wear them for 22 hours a day. The only times you should take them out are for eating and when you brush your teeth (and the aligners). About every two weeks, you’ll switch out your aligners for a new set. We will check on the progress of your treatment at regular intervals to make sure everything is on track.
Once your treatment is complete, your teeth will be perfectly straight!
