Dentures & Partials

Are you missing all or most of your teeth and have difficulties chewing, speaking properly, and generally enjoying your life? Dentures may be the solution to your problems.

Why Dentures?

Tooth loss is a big deal, affecting millions of people in the US, especially people over 65. You can lose your teeth for many reasons, including:

  • Severe gum disease (periodontal disease)
  • Poor oral hygiene
  • Extensive tooth decay
  • Injury to your mouth or face
  • Infection or other illness
  • Tooth extraction

Dentures are a practical option for people living with tooth loss. Whether you’re missing a few teeth or most of them, we have a denture to restore your smile.

What are Dentures?

Dentures are false teeth. They’re usually made from acrylic, porcelain, or plastic, depending on your needs and goals. Advanced technology and updated techniques have significantly improved the aesthetics, durability, and comfort of dentures. Patients who opt for dentures can have a natural-looking, fully-functioning smile.

Types of Dentures

Dentures have come a long way in recent years. Now, there are so many options available.

  • Complete Dentures – This is what everyone imagines when they hear the word “dentures.” Complete dentures replace an entire arch of teeth, top or bottom or both. Traditionally, this type of denture is not fixed in place and needs to be removed for sleeping and cleaning.
  • Immediate Dentures – Also called temporary dentures, immediate dentures are ready for you as soon as your last tooth is extracted. We use these so patients don’t have to spend weeks without teeth while they’re waiting for their permanent dentures to be ready.
  • Implant-Retained Dentures/Overdentures – These are complete dentures that are fixed in place for added stability. Most of the time, we use 4-6 dental implants to make sure the denture is secure. Implant-retained dentures still need to be removed at night and for cleaning.
  • All-On-X Implant Dentures – The most stable dentures, All-On-4 or All-On-6 means that the denture is permanently attached to either 4 or 6 dental implants. They stay in your mouth day and night. Only your dentist can take them out.
  • Partial Dentures – Some patients still have a good number of healthy teeth remaining, so they may not need a full set of dentures. We make partial dentures to fill in the gaps. They are much like complete dentures, either removable or fixed, except they only replace some of your teeth, similar to a dental bridge. Fixed partials require implants, and removable partials are mounted on a metal or plastic structure that clips into your mouth.
