Do You Need an Oral Surgeon for Dental Implants?
If you’ve been researching dental implants or All-on-4 implants in Southwest Michigan, you may have been told that you need to see an oral surgeon.
In some cases, that may be true. But many patients do not realize that certain implant-focused dental offices can complete the entire process under one roof.
In this video, Dr. Kris Bano of Centreville Family Dentistry and Implant Center explains how dental implant treatment can be planned, placed, restored, and completed in one office.

Why Patients Are Often Referred to an Oral Surgeon
Traditionally, dental implant treatment has involved multiple providers. A patient may see an oral surgeon for the implant surgery, then return to their general dentist for the temporary teeth, final teeth, and long-term restoration.
That process can work well, but it may also mean more appointments, more communication between offices, more handoffs, and sometimes more total cost.
For full-mouth dental implant cases like All-on-4 or All-on-X, having one team involved from start to finish can make the process simpler for many patients.
Dental Implants Under One Roof
At Centreville Family Dentistry and Implant Center, many dental implant cases are planned and completed in-house.
That means the consultation, 3D imaging, digital planning, implant surgery, temporary teeth, and final teeth can often be handled by one team in one location.
This can help reduce confusion, improve communication, and make the experience feel more organized for the patient.
How the Implant Consultation Works
During an implant consultation, our team starts with a full digital evaluation. This may include photos, a CBCT 3D scan, and a review of your teeth, jawbone, smile, bite, and goals.
The goal is to understand your situation clearly before recommending treatment.
Sometimes dental implants are the best option. Sometimes they are not. A good consultation should help you understand your choices, the expected process, and the full cost before making a decision.
Same-Day Temporary Teeth for Full-Arch Cases
For full-mouth implant cases such as All-on-4 or All-on-X, temporary teeth can often be made right in the office.
At our office, these temporary implant teeth are digitally designed and 3D printed so many patients can leave the same day with fixed teeth while they heal.
Instead of transitioning into a loose denture, patients may be able to leave with teeth that stay in place and are designed around their mouth, smile, and treatment plan.
Why the Team Matters
Technology is important, but the team guiding you through treatment matters just as much.
From the first phone call to the consultation, surgery day, temporary teeth, and final teeth, our goal is to make the process clear, comfortable, and organized.
Many patients are nervous when they first come in, and that is completely normal. Our job is to answer your questions, explain your options, and help you feel confident about the plan.
A Look Inside the Office
In the video, Dr. Bano also gives a quick tour of Centreville Family Dentistry and Implant Center, including the consultation spaces, 3D scan room, and in-house lab.
The 3D scan room is where we evaluate the jawbone and plan implant treatment. The lab is where implant cases are reviewed and where temporary implant teeth can be 3D printed for certain full-arch cases.
This helps keep the process streamlined and personalized from start to finish.
